About Us

History

May’s opened for business in 1961 by Harry C. May as “May’s Auto Service” in the same location it stands today. Originally opening as a full-service auto shop specializing in general engine maintenance all the way up to full engine replacements. The business was even featured as one of the first in the area to employ computer diagnostics to help in engine troubleshooting and tuning.

Working alongside Harry from the age of 16, was his son Phil May. Soon Harry and Phil realized the need to add to the May’s portfolio. Having a strong history in farming, it was an easy jump to begin selling and servicing field mowers and utility tractors. As the business matured, they again found a need in the area for trailer sales, service, and repair. In 2003, when Harry passed away, Phil continued the operation of the family business and has run the business independently for nearly two decades. Phil is known for his enthusiasm for fishing, popularized by a radio advertisement: “Phil goes fishing on the weekend.”

In 2022 Phil’s son, Jeb, became the third-generation owner of May’s Trailer Sales. Having been around “the shop” his whole life, he understands the value of creating a personal experience for customers while maintaining the quality service their customers have come to expect. Like his father and grandfather before him, he sees opportunities to expand the market and services to best suit customer needs.

May’s Trailer Sales has a strong reputation in sales, service, and repair of custom towing accessories, equipment, and utility trailers.
